Solution Architect Product Consumption FT
Introduction
Design the integrated end-to-end solution covering forecasting, pricing, consumer-provider handshakes, digital contracting, ordering, consumption, charging and invoicing.
· Translate Product-Led Thinking and the Financial Operating Model into a coherent and scalable solution architecture.
· Define the required business processes, information flows, system interactions and integrations, including relevant platforms such as ServiceNow, Pega, Sakura, ICS Portal and financial/cost management tooling where applicable.
· Lead architectural discussions across the different domains and establish a single end-to-end architectural direction.
· Align senior domain architects and stakeholders with different priorities and strongly held viewpoints, moving discussions beyond individual domain optimisation towards an integrated end-to-end solution.
· Challenge existing assumptions and architectural choices where these prevent simplification, scalability or end-to-end integration.
· Drive convergence towards clear architectural decisions and escalate when consensus cannot be achieved.
· Work closely with both business and technology stakeholders to ensure that the proposed solution is useful and implementable
· Identify dependencies, constraints, architectural gaps and implementation risks.
· Develop a realistic implementation plan and transition approach, identifying logical implementation steps, dependencies and sequencing.
· Prepare architectural decisions and recommendations for senior management where cross-domain alignment or prioritisation is required.

What should you bring to ING?
Required experience – must-have skills
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Lead Solution Architect or Senior Solution Architect in a complex enterprise environment.
• Proven experience designing end-to-end solutions spanning multiple business and technology domains.
• Strong experience in translating business operating models and processes into solution, information architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to come together with multiple senior architects and subject matter experts to an outcome.
• Experience working in environments with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and distributed ownership.
• Ability to understand complex existing landscapes and translate them into a target solution and transition approach.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration, information flows, process design and architecture governance.
• Proven ability to connect architecture design with realistic implementation planning.
• Experience presenting architectural choices, trade-offs and recommendations to senior management.
Preferred experience – nice-to-have skills
• Experience with Product-Led Thinking, digital product models, product consumption models or comparable product-oriented operating models.
• Experience with financial flows related to digital products, such as forecasting, pricing, consumption, charging, allocation, invoicing or Total Cost of Ownership.
• Knowledge of or experience with TBM, FinOps or similar financial transparency / technology cost management concepts.
• Experience with platforms such as ServiceNow, Pega and financial or cost-management solutions.
• Experience designing transformation roadmaps where target-state architecture needs to be achieved through realistic intermediate steps.
• Experience in large financial institutions or similarly complex, regulated international organisations.
Importantly, direct experience with ING's Product-Led Thinking or Product Consumption implementation is not a prerequisite. The candidate must, however, demonstrate the ability to quickly understand these concepts and translate them into a practical end-to-end solution.
Hard skills
• End-to-end solution architecture

• Information architecture
• Enterprise system landscape analysis
• Target-state and transition architecture
• Architecture decision-making and trade-off analysis
• Implementation roadmapping
• Strong analytical skill for understanding of complex cross-domain dependencies
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into implementable solution designs
Soft skills
• Strong facilitator, capable of structuring and leading complex architectural discussions.
• Influencing without formal authority, particularly across senior architects and stakeholders from different domains.
• Able to challenge constructively, including questioning existing solutions, assumptions and domain-specific preferences.
• Decisive when consensus cannot be reached, able to formulate alternatives, clarify trade-offs and drive towards a decision or escalation.
• Strong communicator with both architecture and management audiences, able to translate complex architectural topics into clear choices, consequences and recommendations.
